Jag klipper in ett tips som ingår i min prenumeration från Davis Styles "The marathon Bible".
If ever you have wanted to know the secrets to
getting enough sleep the night before your marathon
to leave you in peak condition, then this is one
of the most important emails you will ever read:
If you are like me then you will most likely be
thinking about your race as you fall asleep the
night before the big day.
This is normal.
However if you toss and turn all night and get
worried that you can´t get to sleep then you will
wake up feeling tired and will not be giving
yourself the best chance of reaching your full
potential in your race.
You should realize here that so long as your body
is not tossing and turning all night, that you are
getting all the rest you really need. Even if you
are wide awake, as long as your body is rested then
it is equivalent to getting say 90% of the real rest
that you could be getting if you were fully asleep.
To relax your body further you can just become
conscious of allowing your body to relax and to
consciously allow your body to sink into the
mattress. Next, consciously turn your thoughts
off and just become aware of your breathing. Simply
doing this exercise will allow you to be fully
rested in preparation for your marathon.
The worst thing you can do the night before your
marathon is to continuously worry about your race
and to toss and turn all night. Instead, follow the
above exercise and you will be fine.
